PAVS and the Pembrokeshire Baby Bank supporting families together

This is one of our champion Community Connectors at PAVS, Sarah Harvey, out and about delivering much needed baby clothing from the Pembrokeshire Baby Bank to families in the community.

The Pembrokeshire Baby Bank is a charity relying on grants, fund raising, volunteers and donations. It is a valuable service for families, regularly working with PAVS, the health board, and parenting services. Supporting families in Pembrokeshire with anything from toiletries and nappies to bigger items like highchairs, cot beds and bundles containing all the essentials for new parents and babies from birth. They can provide bundles of clothing for babies, and primary school aged children.

The number of requests for help they are receiving is increasing every week – often the requests are for the most basic essential items.

Sarah tells us: “professionals can make a referral to the Baby Bank  then we collect and deliver to the family. It is a wonderful service, linked to the Keep Warm Keep Well Campaign. As it is all anonymised and discreet, it enables families to seek support without stigma”.

The Pembrokeshire Baby Bank only accepts referrals from professionals. Please ask your Health Visitor, Midwife, or other support worker to submit a referral on your behalf.

A big thank you to the Pembrokeshire Baby Bank for all the invaluable work that you do for the community.
