In Memoriam : John Gossage
It is with great sadness that we share news of the death of former PAVS Chair, John Gossage, who passed away on Monday 18th September 2023 following a period of illness.
Current Chair, Charles Carter says, “As Chair, John lead us through a period of change for some 9 years with PAVS. He was passionate in supporting the Third Sector and, in particular, our Member Organisations. He will be remembered for his ready wit, his ability to see the issues and articulate his views as well as his passion for the environment. We offer Elizabeth and their two sons our deepest condolences and prayers at this difficult time“.
PAVS Chief Officer, Sue Leonard adds, “The whole staff team at PAVS are saddened by the news of the death of our previous Chair, John Gossage.
John was passionate in his support of voluntary & community action, and was a real advocate for PAVS. I am also personally grateful to him for his wise counsel, encouragement, and support for me in my role as Chief Officer.
He will be sorely missed and our sympathies go to his family and friends at this most difficult of times“.
The following message has been received from Elizabeth Gossage:
My much loved husband John sadly died on Monday 18th September, following a painful illness. He was at our home at Coedcanlas.
His funeral will be held at St Caradoc’s Church, Lawrenny at 11am on Wednesday 4th October. This will be followed by cremation at Narberth Crematorium for family and close friends only.
Our sons Nick and Matthew and I will welcome anyone who knew John and would like to join us at the church service and then afterwards for a light buffet lunch at Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth from 1pm.
If you would like to join us for lunch it will help with catering if you could let us know you will be coming. Plas Hyfryd has limited parking but there is plenty of parking on the Town Moor Car Park opposite.
I do hope you will be able to join us to say goodbye to John.
Elizabeth Gossage
We are asking that people please do not pay for flowers for John, but that donations be made in his memory to two local charities which he was very keen to support:
