Meet the Team – Vanessa John

It is the turn of Vanessa John to chat with us this week as part of ‘Meet the Team’.

What’s a day in the life of a Third Sector Support Manager like?
No day is the same – which is what I love. I may be working from home or in the office, meeting people virtually or face to face. . My role involves line managing the magnificent Third Sector Support Team at PAVS , which covers Volunteering PAVS Volunteering Pembrokeshire , Sustainable Funding & Governance PAVS Development and Training I support voluntary groups with any issues they may have, help to deliver the various funding pots managed by PAVS, liaise with partners and other CVCs, plan and deliver training and promote the work of the community and voluntary sector in Pembrokeshire.

Where is your favourite place in Pembrokeshire to visit?
Can I have two? – Lawrenny & Mencap Gardens at Stackpole.

Is there a community group or organisation in Pembrokeshire that you’re excited about right now?
This is a hard question to answer, we work with so many, and they all do great things. But am excited to see the activities being delivered by the Pembrokeshire groups recently funded by the Learning Disabilities Innovation Fund.

Do you have any hobbies or interests?
Walking my dog, gardening and travelling to interesting new places.

What is the best thing about your job?
The people I work with and the groups I support – they never cease to amaze me, their energy, drive and innovative ideas make me love my job.

Fun fact about you?
I love Elvis and I went to GlastonBARRY this year !!!
