Do the little things! Gwnewch y pethau bychain!
March has arrived, and whilst the spring like weather still seems to be in hiding, it is technically now Spring! A season of new beginnings and brighter days, March is a great month to take stock and think about how it is often the little things that make the biggest difference. Afterall, who doesn’t feel a little better after seeing a bright daffodil or the return of blossom and leaves on the trees – little things that really do brighten the day!
Of course, March also brings with it St David’s Day, and one of the lessons St David taught his followers was to do the little things in life. Wise words! The world these days is a hurried, confused and at times quite unpleasant place – a quick glance at any news bulletin or newspaper rarely brings cheerfulness. It can feel overwhelming, and trying to be positive when faced with such negative news can seem almost impossible. But, if we keep the words of St David in mind, then we can all do a little bit here and there to make a difference.
Throughout March we will be posting a quick suggestion most days of something little that you could do that may just make a big difference to someone else. None of our suggestions require spending lots of money, nor a lot of time, and you never know, you might just feel a warm glow from taking time to do something small for someone else. We’d love to hear your suggestions and ideas too, so please do share them with us! Thanks to the Mental Health Foundation (www.mentalhealth.org.uk) for the inspiration based on the 50 random acts of kindness pages of their website.
