Could you be a Trustee?
“You don’t need to be an expert — just passionate about making a difference.”
As part of Volunteers’ Week PAVS has just launched a brand new video (in English and Welsh) to encourage more people to think about being a Trustee, which we hope will encourage more people to consider becoming Trustees.
Featuring honest reflections from real Trustees in Pembrokeshire, the video highlights the rewarding experience of being a Trustee. From gaining new skills and confidence to helping shape decisions that impact communities, trusteeship is not an exclusive role for the few, but an opportunity for the many.
We hope this campaign will address some of the common misconceptions that Trustees must be from a particular background, or highly experienced. The Trustees who shared their experiences with us spoke about the importance of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and commitment which all help to make valuable board members.
Why become a trustee?
- Make real impact: Help guide the mission and strategy of causes you care about.
- Build skills and confidence: Trusteeship is a two-way street — your insights matter, and you grow too.
- Champion inclusion: Diverse boards lead to better decisions and stronger communities.
Whether you’re a young person, a community-minded individual, or someone looking to give back in a new way — there’s a place for you.
Watch the video and discover what it really means to be a trustee.
