Meet the Team – Gwyneth Jones
This week in our regular spot, ‘Meet the Team’, we take a few minutes to chat to Gwyneth Jones.
What is a day in the life of a Connected Communities Programme Manager like?
I support the team of 7 Community Connectors, working throughout Pembrokeshire, connecting individuals to local services & activities. I also connect with professionals, 3rd sector organisations by networking & engaging online & face to face. We follow a social prescribing pathway which involves knowing our communities well, using an asset-based approach to community development that focuses on a community’s strengths & skills of people & places. I attend many community events promoting awareness of the Community Hub as the front door into the Connector team.
Where is your favourite place?
The circular walk from Stackpole, Barafundle, Broadhaven around the lily ponds and back to Stackpole quay.
Is there a group or organisation you are excited about at the moment?
We are very lucky to have some great organisations working hard in Pembrokeshire, but at the moment I am looking forward to visiting the many community buildings that have set up Warm Rooms in Pembrokeshire over the Winter, and connecting with lots of people.
Do you have any hobbies?
Yoga, coastal path walks, cooking – particularly curries.
What is the best thing about your job?
Working with a great PAVS team with a strong focus on community & partnership working – from developing organisations, opportunities for people to volunteer, supporting groups to connect.
A fun fact about you?
I was shortlisted for a reality TV programme!
