Two exciting opportunities to join our dedicated team of independent advocates:

Independent Mental Health Advocate Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire  

37 hour per week advocate. This role will involve visiting mental health units in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, advocating for people in hospital for their mental health. Hybrid working – home/office/with the person in a variety of venues.  Full training provided.  Established long term funding. Full time post or will consider job share opportunity – usually 2 days Carmarthenshire and 3 days Pembrokeshire.

Independent Advocate – Carmarthenshire Community Mental Health Advocacy Service  

37 hour per week advocate post working with people of all ages in Carmarthenshire seeking advocacy to support them in accessing mental health services and other related services. Will include dedicated 1:1 working and drop-in advocacy sessions through the area. Hybrid working home/office/with the person in a variety of venues. Full training provided. Established long term funding.

Pay: starting at £25,623 (unqualified advocate), starting at £28,022 (advocate qualified with the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Qualification or equivalent legacy qualification).

If you:

Have excellent communication, telephone, organisational and IT skills,

Demonstrate an empathic and non-judgmental approach to working with the people you support.

Are either a bilingual Welsh and English speaker, or willing to develop your Welsh language skills.

Have a strong commitment to and understanding of issues of social justice, human rights, equality and inclusion,

Enjoy working as part of a team and engaging with a wide range of people, both professionals and clients of the service,

Are committed to undertaking the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Qualification.
