PAVS Volunteering Pembrokeshire National Volunteers Week 2008

National Volunteers Week 2008 was once again very successful for PAVS Volunteering Pembrokeshire. The volunteering team at PAVS organised a road show of events and activities throughout the first week of June, promoting volunteering and recognising the achievements of volunteers who have carried out exceptional work within the voluntary sector in Pembrokeshire. Exhibitions at the Fishguard Market, the Farmers Market and on the Old Bridge at Haverfordwest were very busy and many passers-by showed an interest in the various volunteering opportunities on offer. The main event midweek took place at the Picton Centre, Haverfordwest where over 80 volunteers and their managers enjoyed complimentary therapies and ‘pamper’ taster treatments as a thank you for their contribution to volunteering. The Pembrokeshire Volunteer Awards 2008 Ceremony was carried out over lunch with around 20 awards and certificates presented to worthy recipients. It was an exceptional day and a fantastic opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to the people who give so much of their time and dedication to volunteering in their communities.
