previously known as the
"Voluntary Sector Training Advisory Group" - TAG)
What is the network?
The network was previously
known as the Training Advisory Group. Since the creation of the
group back in April 2000 the membership has changed and so has the
purpose of the group. It was decided by the group that a re-launch
and a new name should go with the new direction. The network is
for Voluntary and Community groups in Pembrokeshire who provide
learning opportunities or who have an interest in learning / training.
Why join the network?
FREE membership to the Online
Community. Get all the information about courses, funding opportunities,
consultations and new initiatives before anyone else. There is also
the opportunity to post your own information and join in discussions.
Free PAVS training vouchers are often posted on the community for
you to print out and use.
- Get your voice heard, members of the group are representatives
on a number of strategic networks, such as the Pembrokeshire Learning
Network.
- Explore opportunities for working together and partnership working
to share best practice, combine resources or bid for funding.
- Share information and keep up to date with what's going on in
Pembrokeshire, Wales and the UK .
- Promote your learning opportunities or your services though
the Training Programme, Online Community and PAVS website - for
free.
What can I expect
from the Network?
You will be invited to attend
quarterly meetings, but don't worry if you can't attend, you can
access all the papers (and contribute to discussion) through the
online community.
Speakers will be invited
to each meeting and you can suggest a topic or speaker to be invited
along.
You will receive updates
on local and Wales-wide opportunities, such as courses, events or
forums.
You can access specialist
workshops and courses for professional development. Including free
training on using the online community, should you need it.
How do I join?
New members are always welcome so, if you are involved in the voluntary sector in any way and are interested in training, why not come along to the next meeting and get involved in the work of the group? To date, some excellent results have been achieved, but there is still a lot more that can be done to raise the profile of the sector as a key player in training and development.
All you need to do is contact
Louise Wilkinson at PAVS on 01437 769422 (or email training@pavs.org.uk
) with your contact details, and a valid email address if you
would like to join the online community
