Our featured Group...

This group have been supported through the Wales CVC Circuit Riders Project.

Haven Credit Union

Haven Credit Union

Haven Credit Union provides financial services to parts of the community that may otherwise be excluded from accessing such services. Haven Credit Union has a main office in Milford Haven with satellite collection points around Pembrokeshire. The group is run by a committee of volunteers and employs 2 part time staff. Jar of Coins

Haven Credit Union mainly uses ICT for running financial software, client records, printing statements, communications (email) and general administration. General ICT skill levels within the group are good and the group are more than capable of conducting their day to day business in a proficient manner.

Haven Credit UnionThey did however want a website to publicise their service and in less than 4 months, Haven Credit Union successfully designed and created their own website with the assistance of the local Circuit Riders. They are particularly proud of their online interest calculator in the Loans section of the website. (http://www.havencreditunion.org.uk/)

During the course of the last year, Haven Credit Union has relocated to new offices on Charles Street, Milford Haven. The Circuit Rider project assisted in the relocation by helping to install and set up ICT equipment at the new offices, ensuring that the move went as smoothly as possible.

Haven Credit Union is a good example of a voluntary organisation that relies heavily on ICT for their day to day operation. Having the support of the CVC Circuit Rider project has helped ensure the continued smooth and efficient running of the organisation.
