Consultancy Position

To Develop the Environmental Network for Pembrokeshire (TENP)

Project Overview

TENP is looking for someone to carry out 2 main tasks:

1) To develop and co-ordinate The Environmental Network for Pembrokeshire, which is a network of voluntary sector environment groups, by;

  • facilitating communication among member groups to provide mutual support, assist in capacity building and promote processes for representation through TENP
  • raising awareness of environmental issues through briefing notes, newsletters, the website, events, seminars and press releases
  • linking with associated networks in the West Wales region and nationally
  • accessing additional funds
  • ensuring that outputs and targets of the funders are met

2) To ensure TENP makes an effective contribution to policy making in Pembrokeshire by;

  • making links with statutory, third sector and business partners and attending meetings as required
  • negotiating protocols with statutory partners for voluntary sector engagement in policy development.
  • reviewing TENP's own policies and developing the position statements

Location. To be based at PLANED's Offices in Narberth, some home working possible, to be agreed with Trustees.

Reporting.  The Co-ordinator to

  • report to the Trustees at monthly meetings and
  • maintain regular contact with the Honorary Officers.

Work pattern. To be discussed, initially circa 15 hours per week

Remuneration. The Contract fee will be based on a daily rate which is to be agreed and will be inclusive of VAT (if applicable).  Mileage to meetings and other expenses to be agreed with Trustees.

Contract Period. The Post is currently funded to March 2010 (pending progress review every 3 months).
